By TDMy brother and I wanted to give this ammo a try due to its "core-lok" look. Yes, it is expensive compared to other ammo out there. We were looking for this bullet to penetrate the shoulder shield big hogs have. My first hog with this ammo was a 220 lb boar hog. He dropped with the first shot and I fired 3 more shots into him until he stopped moving. I believe that the first shot was sufficient, but I did not want to take a chance he would push himself into our thicket because it would have made recovery very difficult. That same morning, my brother dropped 4 hogs with 4 shots, 3 under the same feeder. The ammo groups very well, and so far the results have been excellent. We have both re-sighted our guns to this ammo. We will be giving it another very good test shortly when our deer season opens. My brother is shooting an Armalite M15 with a 18" barrel, and I am shooting a Ruger AR-556, 16" barrel, both with 1:8" twist. So far the results are outstanding.
By SC DaveDid exactly as advertised. One shot drops.
By EricWent out shooting with friend just to see what they are capable of and did a partially frozen watermelon and a cantaloupe and it blew them away!! I can't wait to go boar hunting with my military friends.
By GarrettI don't have a boar issue but I like testing new ammo. I watched the video and was like cool, but really? I shot a FMJ, a PSP, and a Boar Buster into 3 separate melons. FMJ went through and did as I expected, the PSP made a big chunk come up missing, and the Boar Buster left little melon standing. It was like an explosive went off inside the melon. Always a cool sight to see a melon explode. Yes I know a boar is different than a melon but to compare the 3 different types of rounds I bought and not having boars standing around to get shot this was a good test. Because the price I won't be shooting them all the time but when a predator tries to take my animals it will be dropped in its place!
Boar Buster .223. BETTER THAN ADVERTISED!!!!!
By Josey WalesA buddy and I chipped in and bought couple couple hundred of the Boar Busters .223. We both have mid-grade Bushmasters. I found a nice perch in a tree so did he. 10 minutes later I took the first shot. DROPPED A LARGE MALE IN ITS TRACKS USING THE BOAR BUSTER ROUND!!!! 10 minutes later my buddy dropped 2, BOTH WITH ONE ROUND EACH WITH THE .223 BOAR BUSTER! Needless to say we were stunned that all 3 were "ONE SHOT DROP" THIS IS THE ONLY .223 round that's taken one round to drop them on the spot. FREEDOM IS BEING MODEST IN ITS DESCRIPTION OF BOAR BUSTER. BOAR "ONE SHOT DROP" BUSTER IS MORE APPROPRIATE!!
