7.62x39mm is an intermediate rifle cartridge developed for the Red Army towards the end of World War II. It was later adopted for use in the SKS and AK rifle systems. Since the end of the 1940s, global use of this cartridge has made it one of the most well known and widely distributed rifle cartridges in history. The 7.62x39mm round is often touted as being superior to the Western 5.56x45mm round. This ammo is bi-metal.

Great Round at Bargain Basement Price!
By CharlieI don't usually run steel ammo in my weapons with the exception of my AK-47s. They eat, spit, and eject everything. I had been running Wolf ammo in my for quite some time and then I saw a Youtube video by James Yeager doing a thousand round torture test on a new AK. In that test he ran 1K rounds through a new, out of the box, AK. He had one failure to feed that he showed as an obvious magazine malfunction. The rest, went flawless. I found out he was running this ammo and that interested me more than the rifle performance. Bottom of the line AK's may have some issues but like all AK's they go bang when you pull the trigger. I found this ammo came in under the Wolf in price. So now I have purchased and run around 1K rounds through mine and while not all at once, still have yet to have one failure. This is great range stuff at a great price. I recommend trying it. Just put in another order for several hundred rounds yesterday.
